1. Who we are
Lance Studio is operated by Lance Zheng as an Australian sole trader, ABN 11 359 038 061, based in Melbourne, Victoria. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to info@lancestudio.com.au.
2. Information we may collect
- Your name, business name, email address, WhatsApp phone number, and contact details.
- Your store URL, task instructions, screenshots, recordings, files, approvals, and communications.
- Billing records, plan, invoice, transaction status, and Stripe customer or subscription identifiers. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
- Shopify collaborator permissions and technical information needed to diagnose or deliver work, such as theme files, app settings, error messages, and relevant logs.
- Basic website request data that hosting providers may record, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you through the website enquiry form, WhatsApp, email, Stripe checkout, invoices, calls, and files you send. The website form collects the email address and store URL you choose to submit for a free audit request. We may also receive information from Shopify, Stripe, or another service you authorise us to use for the engagement.
4. Why we use information
- Respond to enquiries, scope tasks, provide estimates, and deliver support.
- Process payments, manage subscriptions, keep tax and accounting records, and prevent fraud.
- Request and administer limited Shopify collaborator access.
- Provide QA evidence, time summaries, support history, and customer service.
- Maintain security, investigate errors, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
5. Disclosure and service providers
We disclose information only where reasonably necessary to provide the service, run the business, comply with law, or protect legal rights. Providers may include Shopify for store access, Stripe for payments and subscriptions, WhatsApp and Resend for communications and website-enquiry delivery, Google Analytics for website usage measurement, Vercel for website hosting, and cloud or file-storage services used for project delivery.
We do not sell personal information. We do not publish your store, work, or results as a case study without separate approval.
6. Overseas processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada, Singapore, and other countries where their infrastructure or personnel operate. Provider locations and subprocessors may change. Their own privacy terms also apply to information processed through their platforms.
7. Storage, security, and access removal
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to a small service business. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Do not send passwords, 2FA codes, full card numbers, unnecessary customer exports, or API secrets through WhatsApp or this website.
Shopify collaborator access is limited to the permissions needed for the work and may be removed when the engagement ends. You can review or revoke collaborator access at any time in Shopify.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain support and transaction records, resolve disputes, and meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to backups and legal retention requirements.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies and similar technology to measure visits, page views, and general website usage. Hosting providers may use essential technology and retain basic request logs for delivery, reliability, and security. Google and other providers process information under their own privacy terms. If marketing tools are added, this policy will be updated before they are used where required.
10. Access, correction, and complaints
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request correction, or make a privacy complaint by emailing info@lancestudio.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information. We will acknowledge and investigate a complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act applies to the matter, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
